In the aftermath of the Covet-19 Pandemic, the PCB agreed only to hold the matches in Karachi and Lahore in order to protect the reputation of the HBL PSL 2022 and to ensure the protection and safety of all participants. The first half of the competition will be hosted by the national stadium, while the cricket headquarters of Pakistan at the Gaddafi stadium, including playoffs, will be held during the second half of the competition.

The 2022 season is larger according to sources and player confirmation since more PSL ownership has indicated that it has included more major names from abroad. The tournament road map for February and the beginning of March update the schedule for the 6th edition. With international players receiving state protection, PCB announced the PSL finals in Pakistan. In the course of four weeks, the tournament will be longer, consisting of a total of 34 matches.

PSL 2022 Schedule

Pakistan Super League 7th edition is possibly held in the United Arabs because of coronavirus, but both rely on the country’s health. A total of 34 games will be held in the United African States along with the opening ceremony and playoffs.

In relation to crowd participation, since Covid-19 is changing, a decision is taken more rapidly, as event organizers track the situation constantly and maintain strong connections with the government officials concerned.

The organizers made sure that the same number of days and evenings would be played on either side when planning the event schedule. The promoters of the event have attempted to make the best possible use of the weekends and schedule double-headers to ensure optimal monitoring and coverage.

All reported locations are to be revised until formally declared here for the six teams of PSL 2022.

According to the 7th edition PSL 2022 schedule (timetable), the league is scheduled to kick off in March and will have a total of six teams competing in the tournament. The League will take the first four-player to compete in the playoffs on the PSL Schedule in a dual circular tubes format. The announced Super League fixtures in Pakistan are still out until the very last season. Here are all six teams.

Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022

The Pakistan Super League 2022 is back, and fans will be able to see their favorite players in action for the first time. What began as a small initiative spearheaded by the Pakistan Cricket Board and Najam Sethi has developed into a global event that has everyone on the edge of their seats. The sixth edition of the PSL is capturing the attention of cricket fans not only in Pakistan but also around the world. The Pakistan Super League’s six franchises have chosen their teams for this year’s tournament, which promises to be one of the best yet.

The PSL 2022 tournament will be held in Pakistan once again, with all matches taking place in Lahore and Karachi. According to sources, the 6th edition of the PSL will feature new venues in Quetta and Peshawar, respectively, including Bugti Stadium and Arbab Niaz Stadium. Unforeseen events, such as the COVID-19, posed problems for the venues to be used during this period. Multan and Rawalpindi have also been ruled out of the tournament this year.

Local players’ category renewals

Following a study and assessment procedure, the PCB has modified the categories of local players.

In the most significant changes, Pakistan wicketkeeper/batsman Mohammad Rizwan (formerly Silver), Islamabad United’s Asif Ali (previously Gold), and Lahore Qalandars’ Haris Rauf (previously Diamond) have all been promoted to the Platinum Category.

Sohaib Maqsood of Multan Sultans and Haider Ali of Peshawar Zalmi have both been promoted to the Diamond Category from the Silver and Gold categories, respectively.

PSL 2022 Draft

The PCB has determined that the PSL Draft 2022 will take place on Sunday, December 12 at 3 p.m. at the High-Performance Centre in Lahore.

Each team will bring a maximum of eight players from the previous event to the draught. The transfer and retention window is now officially open and will shut on December 10th, following the completion of player categories.

Lahore Qalandars will receive the first pick in the Platinum Category, followed by Multan Sultans, Karachi Kings, Islamabad United, Peshawar Zalmi, and Quetta Gladiators. In the Diamond Category, the Lahore Qalandars will be chosen first, followed by Peshawar Zalmi, Islamabad United, Quetta Gladiators, Karachi Kings, and Multan Sultans.

The Lahore Qalandars will get the first pick in the Gold Category, the Peshawar Zalmi the first pick in the Silver Category, the Lahore Qalandars the first pick in the Emerging Category, and the Quetta Gladiators the first pick in the Supplementary Category.

PSL 2022 Draft Pick Order

Islamabad United, the two-time champions, was chosen first in the first round, followed by Multan Sultans. The defending champions, the Karachi Kings, were given the final pick, as is customary. The third pick was given to the Lahore Qalandars, who will be looking to go one step further and win their first PSL title this season. Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators, both former champions, were given the fourth and fifth picks, respectively.

Draft Rules

All franchises were required to choose at least three players from the Platinum, Diamond, Gold, and Silver categories, as well as two players from the Emerging and Supplementary categories. The wild card option was made available to PSL franchises in 2022. Franchises can choose a player from a diamond category to a platinum category, or from a gold category to a diamond category, and vice versa, using the wild card. Franchises were only allowed to use this wild card option once during the draught.

The HBL PSL 2022 support period will begin on 15 February and international professional teams with a negative PCR test will hit Karachi. Upon arrival, two more negative PCR tests will be needed before they can be trained and competed. A five-day isolation period with RT-PCR tests is mandatory for symptomless players or supporting staff returning a positive test on Day One and Four.

The PSL 7th Edition competition was chosen by the Pakistan Cricket Board. The four sites in Pakistan have been selected by PCB. The cricket venues are named after Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Gaddafi Stadium (Lahore), Karachi Kings, and Cricket Stadium Multan. Let’s address the cricket venues in depth! Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)

The Pakistan Cricket Board’s biggest event, the Pakistan Super League 2022, got underway today with the announcement of the schedule for the seventh edition of one of the most popular and competitive cricket leagues in the country.

The defending champions Multan Sultans will face hosts and 2020 champions Karachi Kings at the National Stadium on Thursday, January 27, 2022, following an opening ceremony. The first ball will be bowled at 7 p.m. PKT.

On the next day, Friday, January 28, 2019 champions Quetta Gladiators will face the 2017 champions Peshawar Zalmi.

Multan Sultans will face 2020 runners-up Lahore Qalandars at 2 p.m. PKT in the first of six double-headers scheduled for the 32-day, 34-match tournament, which will be followed by a match between the Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators at 7 p.m. PKT on Saturday, January 29, 2022.

On Sunday, January 30, two-time champions Islamabad will face Peshawar Zalmi, with the evening match featuring arch-rivals Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars.

After 15 matches in Karachi from January 27 to February 7, the action will transfer to the Gaddafi Stadium from February 10 to 27, where the remaining 15 league matches and four play-offs will take hold.

The final on February 27 will be the first time since 2017 that the final will be held at Pakistan Cricket’s headquarters.

From 2018 to 2020, the finals were held at National Stadium, while 2021 final was held in Abu Dhabi, where Sultans defeated Zalmi by 47 runs.

The PCB has structured the 2022 tournament so that each team will play an equal amount of matches in both Karachi and Lahore, as well as games under both natural and artificial lighting.
