BZU Multan Extends Summer Vacations Until September 7, 2025

Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) Multan has officially extended the summer vacations for 2025 until September 7, 2025. The university issued an official notification confirming that both academic activities and hostels will reopen on the same date.

This decision comes after recommendations from the Deans’ Committee and discussions held in a meeting on August 18, 2025. The extension ensures that students, faculty, and administration are fully aligned for the smooth beginning of the Fall 2025 semester.

Why BZU Extended the Summer Vacations

The extension was made following a detailed review of academic schedules and institutional requirements. According to the notification, all terms and conditions outlined in the earlier vacation notice (issued on June 2, 2025) will remain valid.

The delay provides additional time for hostel preparations, semester planning, and admissions processing before the new academic session begins.

Hostel Reopening Updates

BZU clarified that all university hostels will reopen on September 7, 2025, the same day classes resume. This decision is especially significant for outstation students, giving them a clear timeline to prepare for relocation before the start of the Fall 2025 semester.

BZU Fall 2025 Semester & Admissions

With vacations extended, BZU is aligning its academic calendar with the admission process:

  • The university is currently managing the Fall 2025 admissions drive for undergraduate, M.Phil., and Ph.D. programs.
  • The Call-2 merit list for undergraduate applicants was released on August 25, 2025.
  • The deadline for part-time visiting faculty applications is September 3, 2025.

These updates indicate that the new semester will begin shortly after vacations end, keeping academic schedules intact despite the extension.

Punjab Government’s Phased School Reopening

Alongside BZU’s announcement, the Punjab government has already rolled out a phased reopening of schools and colleges across the province:

  • Grades 9, 10, Intermediate, O-Level, and A-Level students returned to classrooms on August 18, 2025.
  • Grades 1 to 8 are scheduled to resume classes from September 1, 2025.

This staggered reopening plan helps manage school operations while ensuring safety and a smoother transition after the summer break.

Revised School Timings in Punjab

The provincial government has also announced new school timings to ensure better time management and minimize heat exposure:

  • Single-shift schools: Monday–Thursday, 7:30 AM – 1:00 PM; Friday until 11:30 AM.
  • Morning shift: Monday–Thursday, 7:30 AM – 1:00 PM; Friday until 11:30 AM.
  • Evening shift: Monday–Thursday, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM; Friday, 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM.

What This Means for Students

For BZU students, this extension provides:

  • Extra preparation time before the semester begins.
  • A clear reopening schedule for hostels and classes.
  • Smoother admission and registration procedures for Fall 2025.

For school students across Punjab, the staggered return ensures a safe and gradual resumption of academic life.
