How to Send ‘View Once’ Disappearing Photos & Videos in WhatsApp

Do you want to transmit photographs or videos in Snapchat style to WhatsApp? This is possible with the Facebook-owned courier service. This function is referred to as “Once View.” In WhatsApp, here’s how to use it.

How Secure Are Disappearing Photos in WhatsApp?

During the transmission of short-lived media, the fact that photographs and videos are removed from the chat does not imply you are genuinely private on the Internet. First, nobody can stop taking screenshots, screen records, photographs, or media movies you send with WhatsApp’s View Once function.

WhatsApp also states that several weeks after the company’s sending encrypted media files may be saved on the servers. Furthermore, the corporation will have access to your vanishing photo or video sent using the chat service when anybody reports that message to WhatsApp.

When the photo/video is opened, it will not be included and hence cannot be restored in WhatsApp backups. However, unopened media files that are provided via the activated “View Once” are backed up and can also be restored from backups.

That said, this feature has certain privacy benefits. The functionality is not immediately stored in the recipient gallery after being transmitted using WhatsApp’s View. These media files are erased after being viewed by the receiver and after sending, the sender will not be able to view the files.

Once the photos or videos on WhatsApp have disappeared, you can access them in 14 days from receipt. If you can’t, these files will be erased automatically.

These messages cannot be transmitted, saved, shared, or projected. As already stated, however, anybody can take screenshots or screenshots of these files to circumvent any of these constraints.

There is currently no way to default to enable the Once View feature. Every time you send it, you must pick it. You can detect if the media has been opened by the receiver only when they’ve enabled read receipts on WhatsApp after sending media using View Once.
