PSL 7 Points Table 2022

For a month, all six Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises will compete for the title of Pakistan’s premier T20 event. The teams will be attempting to accumulate points and climb the PSL points table in order to qualify for the PSL play-offs in the top four slots.

PSL 7 is set to be an intriguing season, as all of the PSL franchises will be looking to improve on their past seasons.

Last time around, Islamabad United, the competition’s most successful team, was the team to beat in the group stages, as they set a new record for the most points and victories in a single edition of the PSL, with eight triumphs in the group stages. The team will aim to finish in the top four of the PSL 7 points standings once more.

Lahore Qalandars, on the other side, finished last in the PSL points table the previous season and will be hoping to rebound by finishing in the top four in the PSL 7 points table. Lahore is the first team in history to finish outside the playoffs five times. With a new captain in command, the stakes are high for this season.

This year’s PSL will be held in two locations. The first part of the competition will be placed at National Stadium Karachi from 27 January to 7 February. The second phase, which includes the playoffs and the final, will be held at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Each of the two sites will feature 15 matches.

The race to finish in the top four slots in the PSL 2022 points table will be fierce, as the six clubs compete for the golden prize on February 27.

PSL 7 Points Table Criteria

The competition will be held in a double round-robin style. In the group stage, each team will face off against other teams twice. The top four teams in each division will advance to the play-offs. The tournament’s rules and regulations are in line with those of the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The scoring system used in the PSL 7 Points Table 2022 is identical to that used in previous seasons or in any other ICC-approved franchise T20 league around the world. After 10 matches in the group stage, the rankings will be determined by the player with the most points.

The teams in the top four spots in the PSL 7 points table advance to the next round. If the match ends in a tie, one point will be awarded, and if the match ends in a loss, zero points will be granted. If a match ends in a tie, a super over will be played.

The following criteria will determine the ranking of the teams in the group stages:

  • At the end of the group stage, the team with the most points will take first place.
  • If both teams have the same number of points, the team with the higher net run rate will win.
  • If the points and the net run rate are both the same. The team with the most wins in the group stage will advance to the next round.
  • If all of the above conditions are equal, the team with the fewest losses will finish higher in the standings.
  • Assuming that all of the requirements remain the same. The league position will be determined by the outcome of the head-to-head match between the two teams.

Play Offs

In the qualification, the team that finishes first in the PSL 7 points table 2022 will face the second-placed team, while the third-placed club will face the fourth-placed team in the first eliminator. The qualification winner advances directly to the final. Meanwhile, in the second eliminator, the loser of the qualifier will face the winner of the first eliminator. In the final, the victor of the second eliminator will meet the winner of the qualification.

If the match ends in a draw, the victor will be determined by a super over. In the event of a tie in the super over, the match will be decided by the higher-ranked team in the group stage.
