Ramiz Raja, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), presided over a high-level meeting to discuss preparations for the Pakistan Super League’s seventh season (PSL). The first t20 match of the PSL 2022 will be played under the lights of the National Stadium, between Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans. Each team was allowed three platinum, diamond, and gold players, five silver players, and two emerging and auxiliary players.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has given franchisees the option of increasing the cap from 18 to 20 players, with the two additions having to be domestic or a mix of domestic and overseas players. The Karachi Kings will face the defending champions Multan Sultans in the 7th season of Pakistan’s version, which will begin on January 27, 2022.
The security arrangements were one of the key topics of debate, with the safety of the players and officials taking precedence, and Prime Minister Imran Khan approving the construction of a state-of-the-art cricket stadium in Islamabad. The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is slated to begin its seventh season this month, and preparations have already begun.
Gladiators retained other England opener Jason Roy and former Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed in the Platinum category. The 59-year-old is also said to have denied paying for the new season’s anthem, according to the report. Ramiz Raja has stated that all efforts would be made to complete the stadium by 2025, allowing Pakistan to host Champions Trophy matches at the newly constructed facility.
