Pakistani fast bowler Shahnawaz Dahani has expressed a wish to meet England’s Jofra Archer, who is his current role model.
Dahan, 23, stated in an exclusive interview that he used to follow Shane Bond of New Zealand, but now he follows Jofra Archer.
“I used to watch New Zealand’s Shane Bond and wanted to be a quick pacer like him,” Shahnawaz Dahani said. “But after he retired, I started following England’s Jofra Archer and my wish is to meet him soon.”
During their T20 World Cup meeting, the Multan Sultans’ star also revealed what Indian superstar MS Dhoni told him about life and cricket.
“It will take a long time for me to explain Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s level. Meeting him was a dream come true for me, and I’ll never forget it. His remarks were really valuable, as he taught me about life, how to live it, and the importance of honoring seniors. He stated that there would be good and terrible days in cricket, but that you must accept them and remain committed to the game you love the most.
Meanwhile, Sultans captain Mohammad Rizwan was complimented by Dahani for his consistent achievements in the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) seventh edition 2022.
“The team environment is similar to that of a family.” Our captain is calm and pleasant. We have complete freedom from him to carry out our plans, and a player performs when he is given freedom and his internal fear dissipates,” he continued.
