The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has named their Test squad for the forthcoming series against Australia. There have been a few changes to the team that faced Bangladesh previously.
Babar Azam will lead the team, which will include Mohammad Rizwan, Hasan Ali, Fawad Alam, and Shaheen Afridi, the cricketer of the year.
Abid Ali, the opener, will not play in the three-match series since he is recovering from Acute Coronary Syndrome, which he suffered a few months ago. Shan Masood, an in-form hitter, has been restored to the Test team in lieu of Abid. Shan last played for Pakistan in early 2021 and has been recalled following his outstanding achievements in the upcoming Pakistan Super League and the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.

Haris Rauf, a pacer, has also been called up to the team. Harris has yet to play red-ball cricket for Pakistan, however, he has been a member of the squad for the past few series. In the squad, he takes the place of Bilal Asif.
Yasir Shah, a leg-spinner, and Naseem Shah, a blazing pacer, we’re unable to make the 16-man team and were instead placed among the reserve pool of players.
The forthcoming series’ training camp will begin on February 16 at National Stadium Karachi. Players who are not currently enrolled in the PSL will be obliged to attend the camp at first.
