Here’s the Updated ICC World Cup Super League Points Table as Bangladesh Climb to Top Spot

After an 88-run triumph over Afghanistan in Chattogram, Bangladesh has climbed to the top of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League standings.

Bangladesh won their tenth game out of fourteen in the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League 2020-23, bringing their total to 100 points with a net run rate of 0.422. They will pass England, who is presently in second place with 95 points. They also become the first team in the CWCSL to attain 100 points.

The Tigers defeated Afghanistan by 88 runs in the second ODI of the three-match series, establishing a 2-0 series lead at home. With the bat, Liton Das (136) and Mushfiqur Rahim (86) stole the show, setting a difficult goal of 307 for Afghanistan to follow down.

Afghanistan battled courageously for half-centuries under the leadership of Rahmat Shah and Najibullah Zadran, but the aim proved too high for the visitors.

Bangladesh has been a force to be reckoned with in the CWCSL thus far, winning seven of their eight games at home. Their lone Super League series loss came away from home when they were swept 3-0 by New Zealand.

Following the conclusion of the current series against Afghanistan, Bangladesh will play South Africa (away), Ireland (away), and England in three CWCSL series (home). They have put themselves in an excellent position to qualify for the 2023 World Cup with 10 victories out of 14 games.

The CWCSL will determine which nations will compete in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in India in 2023. Aside from India, who qualified for the World Cup as a host nation,
