Following a curtain-raiser opening ceremony, the seventh season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will kick off tonight at the famous National Stadium in Karachi, with the home team Karachi Kings taking on the defending champions Multan Sultans.

Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, two award-winning cricketers, will toss for the first match today.

Babar, Karachi’s new captain, was just named ICC ODI Cricketer of the Year, while Rizwan, Multan’s captain, was named T20I Cricketer of the Year.

For both sides, though, things would be very different.

Due to the inclusion of so many great players and the appointment of a new captain, Babar Azam, and a new coach, Peter Moores, Karachi will have renewed energy and an updated approach.

Chris Jordan and Lewis Gregory have been rehired by the new management. To bolster their bowling and batting, they have the services of Tom Abell and Somerset all-rounder Tom Lammonby.

When coupled with players like Babar Azam, Mohammad Amir, and Sharjeel Khan, Karachi will be a powerful force.

Multan, on the other side, has bolstered their batting with the additions of Tim David of Australia, Rovman Powell of the West Indies, and David Willey of England, who will join the club following national commitments.

They also boast a dynamic skipper in the form of Mohammad Rizwan, as well as Shan Masood and Shahnawaz Dahani, the PSL 6 hero.

Both sides will face off against each other at 2 p.m. Pakistan Standard Time. The game will be streamed live here.

X-Factor
As previously stated, both teams’ captains are the best batters in the shortest format. Babar, the No. 1 T20I batter, leads Karachi, while Multan Sultans, the No. 2 on the list and the ICC T20I Cricketer of the Year, is in charge. These two will undoubtedly be the ones to keep an eye on tonight.
