In front of a sold-out crowd at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Lahore and Karachi will renew their rivalry.
Lahore’s position in the PSL playoffs will be confirmed for the second time in the tournament’s history if they win. The Qalandars have been outstanding throughout the campaign, winning five and losing two of their seven games. They have a well-balanced lineup and, as the event went, they established the proper team combination. While their world-class bowling attack has received widespread acclaim, their batting has been equally impressive throughout the competition. Karachi, on the other hand, has had a very bad season.
They have yet to win in their last eight games, and a loss to their arch-rivals might further deflate their confidence moving into the new season. Despite failing to strike the appropriate balance in their lineup, they have fared slightly better in their previous two outings, losing both games agonizingly. Fakhar Zaman has recently been in the best shape of his life. He has been Lahore’s shining light in the batting department and is the tournament’s leading scorer. In the previous match between the two teams, he struck a century, and he will be motivated to deliver for his team in front of their home crowd once more.
So far in the campaign, we haven’t seen Babar Azam at his best. The world-class talent has struggled to find the back of the net throughout the tournament, and he will be eager to change that in the high-octane duel. Babar is at his best when he’s up against the wall, so don’t be surprised if he’s among the runners.
