Both Shahid Afridi and Shoaib Akhtar made their international debuts in the same year and have remained vital components of Pakistan’s side since then.

They’ve played a lot of cricket together and have always supported each other both on and off the field.

They are not adversaries, despite the fact that they have traded a few jabs. Following the announcement of Shahid Afridi’s retirement, the world’s fastest bowler tweeted the hard-hitting all-rounder.

“Rest kero Lala,” Akhtar tweeted. Is umar main yeh ishq nahi asaan, Is umar main yeh ishq nahi asaan, Is umar main y Shahid Afridi announced his retirement from international cricket in 2016. To keep his fans entertained, he did continue to play league cricket.

Shahid Afridi had said that the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) would be his final appearance, but an injury he’d been struggling with for over 16 years forced him to retire early.

“An old injury has made it impossible, and the pain it is causing has grown excruciating that I can’t bear it anymore,” Afridi said in a YouTube video.

“My entire body has been aching since the first game [in PSL 7], and it became agonizing last night,” Afridi said in an interview with a news channel. “I understand it’s a difficult decision,” he added, “but health comes first.”

Shahid Afridi has played in every season of the Pakistan Super League so far. He has played for Peshawar Zalmi, Karachi Kings, Multan Sultans, and Quetta Gladiators, among others.
