Quetta Gladiators upset Karachi Kings by 23 runs to keep their dreams of making the PSL7 playoffs alive. Quetta is now in fifth place in the PSL points table and will be looking for a big loss for Islamabad in their upcoming encounter in order to leapfrog them due to a higher net run rate.

The Gladiators made a slow start to their innings at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, as they were unable to score freely on a difficult wicket. Jason Roy pushed them through the innings, scoring another half-century and guiding them to a comfortable 166/4 total.

Joe Clarke and Babar Azam got Karachi off to a good start, laying the groundwork for the chase.

The run chase collapsed soon after Babar’s wicket, as Karachi lost wickets at regular intervals. At Karachi, Khurram Shehzad took four key wickets as the visitors were reduced to 143/8.
