Former England captain Michael Vaughan has praised the quality of cricket played in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), which he considers to be the world’s second-best T20 league after the lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL).

“The Pakistan Super League is the world’s second-best T20 tournament.” It’s also not far from the IPL. On Twitter, Vaughan stated, “Outstanding standard of cricket.”

During the high-scoring match between Multan Sultans and Islamabad United, he made these remarks. Multan Sultan, headed by Mohammad Rizwan, won by 20 runs, their fourth consecutive victory in the ongoing tournament. Sultans have shown great tenacity thus far, as they edged off Quetta Gladiators in a last-over drama on Monday. David Willey got the last two wickets for just one run in the final over, snatching the game from Quetta’s grasp.

Quality of Cricket in PSL

This isn’t the first time a foreign cricketer has praised the PSL’s standard of play.

Former Australia all-rounder Shane Watson claimed in 2019 that the PSL’s bowling standard sets it apart from other tournaments across the world.

“I think the PSL is a fantastic competition. In comparison to all other competitions I’ve played in, the bowling sticks out for me,” Watson observed during the fourth edition of the PSL.

Similarly, Dale Steyn, a former South African bowling great, hailed the caliber of fast bowlers in last year’s premier tournament.T20 leagues can be found all over the world. PSL, on the other hand, is rated higher than the majority. Since its start in 2016, the league has consistently outperformed expectations and is now regarded as one of the best T20 competitions in the world, owing to its outstanding bowling quality.
