On Thursday, 3 February, Quetta Gladiators will meet Islamabad United in the tenth round of the PSL 2022. The match will begin at 7:30 p.m. PST at Karachi’s National Stadium.
Match Preview
Both Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United will be looking to climb the PSL 2022 points table in this crucial match. Islamabad and Quetta are currently ranked third and fourth, respectively. Quetta has won one and lost twice in their first three PSL 7 matches, while Islamabad has won one and lost one in the two matches they have played thus far.
Gladiators have had an unlucky start to the season, losing two nail-biting matches while winning a convincing triumph against Karachi. They’ll be determined to avenge a disheartening loss to Multan in their previous match and return to winning form.
The presence of Shahid Afridi and James Vince, who are both available for selection ahead of the blockbuster showdown, will provide Quetta a much-needed boost.
Because he underwent COVID-19 last month and is exempt from the three-day isolation requirement, James Vince will be available for selection tonight. Jason Roy will only be available after his three-day quarantine period has ended.
In their most recent encounter, Islamabad came close to pulling off a miraculous run chase, with skipper Shadab Khan producing one of the most remarkable knocks in PSL history. Their excruciating loss to the Multan Sultans in their previous match has sparked some doubts among the team’s think-tank members.
United’s bowling was particularly awful, as Multan hitters ripped them to shreds. They’ll be adamant about improving their performance and climbing the points ladder.
Both sides are anticipated to change their starting lineups from the last match. James Vince is set to replace Ben Duckett in Quetta’s starting lineup, while Colin Munro is likely to replace Rahmanullah Gurbaz in Islamabad’s.

Head to Head
In total, the two teams have met 13 times during the tournament. Gladiators have the upper hand with seven wins against United’s six. They last met at Abu Dhabi on June 11, 2021, with Islamabad winning by ten wickets.
X-Factor
The addition of James Vince to Quetta’s batting lineup will undoubtedly help the team. The English batter is one of the most in-demand players in franchise leagues around the world, and he will give steadiness and a lot of fireworks at the top of Quetta’s order. Vince also has a strong track record when it comes to Islamabad. In the six innings he has played for United, he has 151 runs at an average of 30.20 and a strike rate of 143.80.
In the two PSL games he’s played so far this season, Paul Stirling has been in excellent form. He has the capacity to take the game away from opponents in the first few overs of an innings, and Islamabad will be counting on him to get them off to a good start once more. Islamabad has a decent chance of scoring significantly once again if Stirling performs at his best.
